Indiana’s extensive manufacturing base, rail and highway networks, agricultural processing operations, and distribution corridors create ideal conditions for birds to roost and nest on structures.
Common challenges include:
Without professional exclusion, bird activity often spreads across multiple structures within a facility.

Facilities throughout Indiana frequently experience pressure from the following bird species:
Pigeons are the most persistent problem bird across Indiana facilities. They roost on ledges, beams, parking garages, bridges, dock canopies, and rooftops.
House sparrows nest in tight gaps, soffits, vents, signage, and overhangs, making long-term exclusion essential.
European starlings form large flocks and often enter warehouses, processing plants, and industrial buildings through unprotected openings.
Seagulls impact facilities near waterways, landfills, transfer stations, and open industrial sites, particularly along river corridors.

Midwest Bird Control works with small, medium, and large-scale facilities throughout Indiana, including:
Birds roost in rafters, dock doors, loading canopies, and overhead steel, creating sanitation and safety concerns.
Large rooflines, exposed beams, conveyors, and equipment structures attract pigeons and starlings.
Bird pressure impacts grain handling areas, storage structures, processing buildings, and covered equipment zones.
Multi-level garages experience heavy pigeon roosting on beams, ledges, lighting, and drainage systems.
Entry canopies, fuel canopies, pedestrian overhangs, and dock shelters are frequent bird problem areas at both small and large facilities.
Birds nest and roost along rail corridors, maintenance facilities, bridges, and underpasses.

Effective bird control requires exclusion-based solutions designed around structure layout, bird behavior, and operational needs. Midwest Bird Control provides professional, long-term systems scaled to each facility.
Bird netting creates a physical barrier that prevents birds from accessing rafters, beams, ceilings, bridges, canopies, and overhead structures.
Exclusion systems block birds from landing or nesting on ledges, rooflines, signage, dock edges, and architectural features.
From isolated bird pressure points to complex multi-structure facilities, solutions are designed to match the size and scope of the project.
All systems are professionally installed to withstand Indiana weather conditions and the demands of commercial and industrial environments.

This was a government project done around what the industry calls "fish bowls" on the sides of the building near the top. Big predatory birds were getting trapped in the windows that were about 8' deep. They were chasing the big spiders that were inside those for food and then because of their wingspan, couldn't fly back out. Midwest Bird Control was called in to install bird wire

Jobs like these don't come along as much and here our team was learning how to maneuver the window washing platform. This picture, they are just over the top parapet of the building about to descend.

Extreme heights are a possible situation in the work of bird control. A mere 420 feet to the ground at this location

The result, bird wire attached a little more differently than normal bird wire posts due to the design of the structure. This also gives you an insight of the depths of these "fish bowls".

Yes. Midwest Bird Control supports projects of all sizes, ranging from isolated bird issues on single canopies or overhangs to complex multi-structure industrial facilities.
Canopies and overhangs provide shelter and overhead structure with low disturbance, making them ideal roosting and nesting locations for pigeons and sparrows.
Effective solutions include industrial bird netting, structural exclusion systems, and facility-wide control plans designed around building layout and bird behavior.
Yes. Installations are coordinated with facility management to minimize disruption and maintain safe, continuous operations.
Yes. All bird control services are performed in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and tailored to the species and facility involved.
When professionally installed, commercial-grade bird control systems are designed for long-term performance and durability in Midwest weather conditions.
The process begins with a site assessment to identify bird pressure areas and develop a customized control plan based on facility size and operational needs.
