Proverbs 27:17...As Iron Sharpens Iron So Must One Man Sharpen Another

Occasional bird activity with little buildup or repeat use of the same location.
Light bird pressure occurs when birds land or pass through an area without consistently returning to the same spot.
This type of activity is typically seen on:
• ledges or signs with occasional use
• rooftops or equipment areas with minimal activity
• areas without nesting or established roosting
At this stage, there is usually little to no droppings buildup or nesting present.
Light pressure situations are less common in commercial environments where problems have already been noticed.
Most properties contact Midwest Bird Control after bird activity has become consistent and begun creating visible mess, damage, or ongoing maintenance issues.

Birds return regularly to the same areas, with early signs of buildup and repeat activity.
Moderate bird pressure occurs when birds begin using specific areas of a building on a regular basis.
These locations allow birds to:
• observe surroundings for food
• remain elevated and undisturbed
• return to the same resting areas daily
Common locations include:
• building ledges and facade lines
• storefront signs and overhangs
• parking structures and rooftops
At this stage, early signs of a problem begin to appear:
• droppings buildup in the same areas
• increased frequency of bird activity
• birds returning to the same structures
Moderate pressure often develops into heavier infestations if access is not restricted.
This is typically the point where property managers begin noticing recurring cleanup and visible issues.

Established roosting or nesting with ongoing buildup, repeat activity, and visible impact.
Heavy bird pressure occurs when birds have fully established a roosting or nesting location on a structure.
At this stage, birds are consistently returning to the same areas and using them daily.
Common locations include:
• canopies and entry overhangs
• warehouse rafters and interior structures
• loading docks and service areas
• rooftop equipment and ledges
Heavy pressure is typically identified by:
• significant droppings buildup
• active nesting or established roosting areas
• repeated cleanup in the same locations
• visible impact on operations, safety, or appearance
Once bird pressure reaches this level, temporary solutions are no longer effective.
The problem will continue and often worsen unless access to the structure is prevented.
Heavy bird pressure requires a structural solution — not ongoing cleanup.
Midwest Bird Control provides systems designed to eliminate access and stop the problem from continuing.
